QueryPie Leadership on the Rise of AI-Driven Threats: 'The Terminator Is No Longer Fiction'

QueryPie CEO and CTO warn that AI agents are the new attack surface — and unveil a unified platform that governs every layer of enterprise access
Seoul, South Korea — October 25, 2026 — QueryPie, a data security and AI platform company, today shared insights from an exclusive interview with CEO Inserv Hwang and CTO Samyoung Kim, in which they outlined why the rise of autonomous AI agents demands a fundamentally new approach to enterprise security — and how QueryPie's integrated access control platform is built to meet that challenge.
AI Agents Are Now an Attack Surface
"The scenario depicted in the 1984 film The Terminator — machines turning against human society — has become a present-day reality," said CEO Inserv Hwang. "AI agents are being weaponized as hacking tools, threatening the environments in which people live and work. As enterprises delegate more of their critical operations to AI, they must put control mechanisms in place to prepare for the collision between humans and AI."
CTO Samyoung Kim elaborated on the risk: "Humans created AI as a tool to extend their thinking, and now AI is performing work on their behalf. If those systems operate without proper oversight, the human principal remains liable for whatever goes wrong. What's needed is a systematic control layer that governs who — or what — is granted access to which resources, and that keeps a full audit trail of every action taken."
One Platform for Every Access Layer
As AI agents' operational footprint expands across corporate infrastructure, the question of what information they can access — and how they behave once they have it — becomes a board-level concern. QueryPie's response is a comprehensive security platform that unifies AI governance with traditional enterprise access control.
The platform integrates a full suite of enterprise security capabilities: AI usage policies, AI audit logging, and AI anomaly detection alongside access control for databases, servers, cloud environments, and Kubernetes — all managed from a single pane of glass.
QueryPie operates two core product lines: ACP (Access Control Platform), an on-premises governance solution, and AIP (AI Platform), delivered as SaaS. An AI Gateway, previously embedded within AIP, is also being spun out as a standalone product.
"AI agents ultimately need to reach into databases, servers, and cloud resources to do their work," said Kim. "We've built a platform that determines who — or what agent — is authorized to access which resource, approves that access, and records every step of the process."
Differentiated Technology, Proven in the Field
QueryPie's platform currently protects the database, server, and cloud assets of approximately 250 enterprise customers in South Korea — spanning Big Tech, financial services, fintech, e-commerce, and telecommunications — and serves more than 50 enterprise clients in Japan with AIP.
CEO Hwang, who leads the company's global business development, cited Japan as a key validation market. "Rather than building bespoke products for each customer, we evolved a single platform that can be configured for any enterprise's needs. That approach has let us absorb rapid changes in cloud and AI technology without losing pace," he said. "Marquee Japanese IT solution providers — including TerraSky, Ashisuto, and Salesforce Japan — are now QueryPie customers."
The company currently holds contracted revenue of over KRW 11 billion and expects to cross monthly break-even before the end of 2026. "We're seeing new wins from use cases our partners and customers have validated in the field — payroll verification automation, vehicle specification document automation, and more," Hwang noted. "Customer retention is extremely high, and we expect to be profitable on a full-year basis in 2027."
Kakao Talent, Built for the AI Era
QueryPie's engineering team includes Hwang and Kim alongside a number of senior engineers who previously built search infrastructure and search cloud systems at Kakao and Kakao Enterprise. Their experience handling large-scale data and cloud infrastructure — and, critically, understanding how AI systems actually move and what paths they follow — has been instrumental in extending QueryPie's access control technology into cloud and AI environments.
"These are people who spent years advancing AI systems," Hwang said. "Now they're turning that expertise toward AI governance."
IPO Plans and Strategic M&A Options
Investors are watching QueryPie's domestic IPO prospects closely. "Some of our shareholders hold foreign nationality, but internally we see ourselves as a Korean company and have a clear goal of listing on the domestic market," Hwang said. He added that listed companies on the Tokyo Stock Exchange — including the Japan subsidiary of Salesforce — have approached QueryPie about collaboration, and that the company is keeping various financial expansion options open, including potential M&A activity.
