QueryPie announced that it has released its enterprise-grade data security solution, QueryPie, as QueryPie Community Edition, allowing anyone to use it free of charge for one year. The Community Edition is a free distribution designed so companies can install and operate the solution directly without cost burden.

The article explains that the release was planned to help reduce the cybersecurity gap faced by startups and small and midsize businesses. Its purpose is to help organizations that have technical capabilities but struggle to build or use strengthened security infrastructure gain practical security capabilities.

QueryPie is designed to help organizations reduce costs and improve productivity at the same time, even in cloud environments. The article also highlights support for global security regulations such as the Information Security Management System (ISMS), PCI-DSS, and GDPR. It reports that major Korean enterprises and unicorn startups, including Kakao, Shinhan, Toss, Musinsa, HYBE, and Yanolja, have adopted QueryPie.

Community Edition includes the same core features used in the production product. The listed capabilities include DAC (Database Access Controller), SAC (System Access Controller), KAC (Kubernetes Access Controller), and WAC (Web Access Controller). It also supports integration with QueryPie AI Hub, QueryPie's AI product.

All features can be used without functional limits by up to five users, and the edition is provided so anyone can install and operate it easily. The article describes the free offering not simply as a demo or marketing tool, but as a first step toward realizing the social value of making technology more public and closing the digital divide.

QueryPie CEO Brant Hwang said security blind spots at small and midsize businesses and startups with limited funding and personnel are emerging as an important social issue. In particular, as cloud and remote-work environments spread, companies with weak security infrastructure are becoming major targets for cyberattacks, which led QueryPie to implement a practical support measure.

Hwang also explained that QueryPie is adding a community license separately from the enterprise licenses provided to large enterprises and financial institutions, making the solution available free of charge to all companies for one year. He also shared the message that QueryPie has held a vision since its earliest days of protecting security worldwide with Korean security technology, and that now is the time to first protect Korea from its current security risks.

QueryPie is a data security company that provides integrated access control and auditing for major IT assets including databases, servers, Kubernetes clusters, and web applications. Founded in Silicon Valley in 2020, the company has advanced data governance technology with experts in cloud and development infrastructure and has grown to serve more than 130 customers in Korea and abroad.

Recently, QueryPie launched QueryPie AI Hub, a central control platform for internal enterprise AI use. AI Hub supports safe use of MCP (Model Context Protocol)-based AI agents and is presented as part of a product strategy that, together with Community Edition, enables more organizations to experience data usage environments with security and governance built in.
